New drop-off recycling stations are now available in Northridge and Mad River Township. Grand opening celebrations will be held in Northridge from 4-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, and in Mad River from 4-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 26.
The Northridge station is located at 1539 Student Ave., the Pappy Maine Field of Northridge Youth Baseball Association. The Mad River Township station is at 7952 Dayton-Springfield Road, by the Mad River Township Service Building.
The Clark County Solid Waste District is opening these stations to add to the three sites that have been in use for several years. The free, self-service stations provide bins for dropping off cardboard, plastic, metal, glass, and paper to be recycled. The District contracts with Rumpke for service for most of the containers on these sites.
District personnel and Rumpke representatives will be at the grand opening events to provide information about using the drop-off stations. Rumpke will offer reusable shopping bags and other promotional items while supplies last.
The three existing drop-off sites are at the District office, 1602 W. Main St.; by the Health District office, 529 E. Home Rd., and in the Sunrise Cooperative parking lot, 21 Woodward St., in South Charleston. For information, call the District at 521-2020 or go to www.32trash.org.
